Trad&Now's mission is to promote, preserve and support
the cultural diversity and heritage of all traditional and contemporary folk music and
related performance arts such as poetry, dance, storytelling and folklore and to encourage
this as part of our everyday lives.
Where we are, and what we are
Trad&Now is based in Australia and we're here to
support, promote and cherish the folk arts of Australia and the world.
We welcome contributions from all around Australia and
overseas dance, and stories are performed.
We would also like to encourage interest stories about
Australian places and people and their lives.
This is essential as these stories are the inspiration for
new songs, poems, tune and performances in the folk tradition.
What we do
We produce, with the help of a number of contributors from
around Australia, a bi-monthly magazine available by subscription
and at selected newsagents and festivals.
We manage an On-Line Music Shop for over 350 Australian
performers with over 530 titles.
Prepare CD compilations of artists. Two have been produced
to date - Tapestry Volumes 1 & 2 with over 40 artists featured.
Support the Folk Music Industry in Australia.
