Bruce Cameron, Bathurst Folk Club
Bruce Cameron, Bathurst Folk Club
Trad&Now makes an important contribution to the folk movement in Australia.  Our wonderfully diverse folk community is carrying on its various activities all the time right around the country (and beyond) and Trad&Now celebrates this diversity without the need to draw boundaries between genres and with an obvious pride in our artists.  The magazine is a valuable addition to existing music industry publications and is raising the profile of folk in this country, so it deserves the support of everyone sharing an interest in the folk arts.

Every good idea needs a champion and Trad&Now is not only a good idea it is a binding force in a previously fragmented folk revival. Here, at last, is a magazine that brings together folklorists, performers, musical instrument makers, artists, poets, songwriters, record labels, music publishers and, most importantly, folk arts administrators – all under the one friendly banner. It also has the potential to wave a distinctive Australian flag in a world environment where all small cultures are continually under threat from dumbed-down fake arts. Trad&Now definitely has a leading role to play and its journey has only just begun. It needs everyone’s support and that includes the arts funding bodies.
