When we think of the bush we usually think of gold, bushrangers, drovers, endless plains and sheep ñ however there was also romance. This is the first collection of Australian traditional songs about romance ever assembled. There was also a bawdy aspect of Australian romance this shows itself in some of the earlier songs like 'The Thrashing Machine' and 'Green Leaves Upon the Green'. These are all good fun and part of a very long tradition of such songs.
